Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

You have got to make these delicious treats.  Loved by all that tasted and all requested the recipe.  I got this recipe from the Nov/Dec issue of Southern Lady Magazine.
Here is what you will need:  butter, sugar, semisweet chocolate squares, eggs, vanilla extract, flour, cocoa powder, semisweet chocolate morsels, salted peanuts, peanut butter,  and confectioners' sugar.
Line a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with heavy duty aluminum foil; spray foil with nonstick cooking spray.

Melt butter and chocolate squares in microwave. Stir and stir until chocolate melts.

In large bowl combine sugar, eggs and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until combined.
Add chocolate mixture to sugar mixture, beating to mix well.
In a separate bowl combine flour, cocoa powder and salt.

Gradually add flour mixture to sugar/chocolate mixture.
Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
Bake for 14 to 16 minutes
While brownie is baking lick all the spoons before putting in dishwasher. Go ahead-I know you want to. No one is watching.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes
Prepare peanut butter filling by combining peanut butter and butter
Beat with electric mixer and gradually add confectioners' sugar and vanilla
After putting the brownie in freezer for 15 minutes, spread top with peanut butter filling
Make sure you spread it very evenly across the entire brownie
I used this handy little food processor to chop the peanuts
Nuke the chocolate morsels til melted
Spread the melted chocolate over the peanut butter filling
Make sure you spread it over the entire surface
Sprinkle with the chopped peanuts.  You are almost finished.  Now just wait a couple of hours for the chocolate to set.  It makes it so much easier to slice into little bars or squares.
These little treats are great and very rich.

These would be great for your next tailgate or a pick up dessert for any party. I promise these are delicious.  I made these bars on Saturday and I am still getting compliments.  One friend even admitted to hiding the ones I gave her from her family.  You know who you are!
Enjoy!!!!
